On June 25 an introductory meeting for potential members of the external advisory board was conducted. Dr. Martin Mutambuka from UCU, facilitated the online meeting and welcomed almost 40 participants including ADVALUE members and external experts from Kenya and Uganda. As explained by Prof. Rosemary Bulyaba, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UCU, it is the aim of the WP2 working group to discuss with employers and other stakeholders concerned, the quality of PhD education at East African Universities, the existing shortcomings, potential improvements and areas of cooperation. Besides the follow-up of the manyfold aspects discussed, this activity is one of many to come and shall lead in the establishment of an External Advisory Board (EAB) for the ADVALUE project. The EAB will support ADVALUE to check its project activities against the demand and increase its impact.
